Lifting a bit of suspense over one of the museum worlds most controversial architecture commissions the Barnes Foundation has chosen Tod Williams and Billie Tsien to design its new. Almost every detail of the designs for the new Barnes Foundation seems to ache from the strain of trying to preserve the spirit of the original building in a very different context.

The Barnes Foundation is one of the most important collections of Post-Impressionist and early Modernist art in the world home to masterworks by Cezanne Renoir Matisse Picasso Van Gogh and others.
